RCMUN Delegate Tech Policy
Delegates in General Assembly and Specialized committees are allowed to use technology during unmoderated caucuses to draft working papers and resolutions. The use of technology during formal debate, outside of committee, and during voting procedures is still prohibited. During the conference, any documents to which more than one delegate is collaborating or has access to are required to be shared with the dias, no exceptions. Working on resolutions outside of committee sessions or deliberately restricting access to current committee documents to “kick-out” other delegates is strictly prohibited and may result in award disqualification.
Technology is prohibited for Crisis Committees.
For Accessibility
If delegates need devices like tablets as an assisted listening device or alternative communication device, please communicate this with Elliot Cayabyab at [email protected] prior to conference and your respective committee staffers before committee starts. We are also able to enable captions in any committees if communicated.
Generative AI Tech Policy
The use of generative AI is strictly banned in relation to the writing of any document prior to or during RCMUN. No part or whole position paper, working paper, or resolution may be written with the use of generative AI. Any delegate found to be knowingly disobeying this rule may be under review for award disqualification and other appropriate disciplinary action.
Machine-learning based grammar checkers (i.e. Grammarly, QuillBot, programs embedded in Microsoft Word and Google Docs) are permitted solely for the sake of checking the accuracy of a delegate’s grammar.
Questions regarding the AI policy can be directed to Anna Palecek at [email protected].
