Beyond the Great Wall: 1970s Chinese Politburo. Welcome comrades, to the Poilitburo of the great People's Republic of China. As sino-soviet relations deteriorate and the effects of Mao's Great Leap Forward continue to ripple through China to disastrous results, following Mao's death a new era has begun under Chairman Deng Xiaoping. Delegates will take the places of Politburo members under the leadership of Deng Xiaoping and work to resolve issues both domestic and international. Delegates will work to establish economic and political reforms nationally and work together delegates from the U.S. National Security Council joint committee to negotiate the reopening of diplomatic and economic relations between the U.S. and China. In the 21st century China is a modern economic miracle, however, that was not the case in the 1970s. Delegates are welcome for a weekend of political intrigue, diplomatic schemes, and serious policy debate.​
