The United Nations Environment Programme was founded in 1972 with the chief goal of fighting climate change and protecting the worlds environment. Since that, the program has kept expanded to include activities such as pushing for a greener economy, bringing the latest climate science to the forefront of the UN, and regulating CFC's to protect the atmosphere.
