The United States Senate has been tasked with debating a topic it has not since 1959. President Annie Malina has called upon the Senate to work on adding Puerto Rico as the 51st State. While Statehood is what the President seeks, it is upon this body and you the delegates to decide the status of Puerto Rico and potential other territories of the United States. In addition to this request, the Senate will be debating the future of settlement of the Antarctic Archipelago. Following the changes of Global Warming, 70% of the land once covered by ice and snow is now present and usable. You – the delegates – will be drafting the programs that work with other nations to utilize the land that has become present following the melting of the ice. What that utilization looks like and how we cooperate with others will be decided in this Senate session. Divisions will be present but it is your ability as delegates that will determine our future.
